Silver Hook

The Silver Hook gets its name from the creamy white hook-like markings on its forewings. It can be seen flying by day and is easily disturbed from vegetation.

The Silver Hook is on the wing from May to July.

Larval Foodplants

The larvae feed on Wood-sedge (Carex sylvatica) and grasses.

Restricted to Sutton Park

In the 2011 Butterfly Conservation Warwickshire Annual Report (pp67), the Silver Hook was described as a "recent coloniser to Sutton Park'.
